“La Maison du Filet Brodé” is a plunge in the heritage of the region, a lesson of cultural openess, a unique experience, an artistic and technical discovery and a moment of creation.
A special area is reserved for 28 headdress files, each detailing its geographical location, the collection carried out, and all the information necessary for their reproduction. This study was carried out in partnership with the cultural heritage inventory department of the Brittany region.
The opening of this museum space is the result of efforts made since 2006 by the association ‘Ijin ha Spered ar Vro’, which has set itself the task of preserving and passing on the technique of knotted and embroidered netting, which is similar to lace.
The members’ work is displayed in the workshop room adjoining the exhibition, where reproductions of antique pieces and contemporary creations are displayed side by side.
